SHAKER A. ZAHRA Shaker A. Zahra is the Chair of the Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship Department, Robert E. Buuck Chair of Entrepreneurship and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he is also the Academic Director of Gary S. Holmes Entrepreneurship Center. He is also Distinguished Visiting International Professor and the International Director, Advanced Institute of Business Research, Tongji University, China. Dr. Zahra has taught in several US universities as well as Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Widely published and cited, his research has appeared in many top academic journals and has received several honors, grants and awards (including 5 honorary Ph.D.s and the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research). He has served on over 25 review boards of leading academic journals as well as the Academic Director of Babson Conference and Chair of the Academy of Management’s Entrepreneurship Division. He has been a consultant to several companies throughout the world. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Management and several other professional organizations. He has been keynote speaker for 50 conferences around the world. |
ANTONIO ABRIL ABADÍN Law degree from the University of Oviedo. Lawyer of the State on leave of absence. He is currently Secretary-General and Secretary of the Board of Directors and Director of Regulatory Compliance of Inditex S.A. He represents this company in various national and European forums and institutions, especially in the areas of associationism and business competitiveness, industrial property, sustainability and good corporate governance. In the academic field, he has served as a Professor of Administrative Law at the University of A Coruna. Currently he is presiding the Social Council of this university, as well as the Conference of Social Councils of the Spanish Universities. He also chairs the University-Business Commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and he is member of the Board of the Foundation Conocimiento y Desarrollo (CyD), that represents the commitment of the Spanish company with the third university mission. |
SANTIAGO VÁZQUEZ He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is also a sociologist, an economist and a has a degree in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as PDD from IESE. He has been working for more than twenty-five years in the field of leadership and management of people in Spain, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines and now in Mexico as Director of the Leadership Institute of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is teacher in different universities, speaker and lecturer specialized in motivation, leadership, coaching and happiness at work. His positive vision of work and his intervention proposals constitute an innovative contribution to the reinvention of management. MARIA DE LOURDES MACHADO-TAYLOR (MARIA DE LOURDES MACHADO) Maria de Lourdes Machado holds a Licenciatura in Economics from the University of Porto (Portugal), Post- Graduate Studies in Administration and a Ph.D in Business Administration, both degrees from the University of Minho (Portugal). She is a Senior Researcher Associate at the Center for Research on Higher Education Policies (CIPES) and currently works at the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) in Portugal. Her areas of research include Management, Leadership, Strategies, Higher Education Policies and Gender Studies. She has coordinated and contributed to multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional research projects funded namely by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal), Capes (Brazil) and European Commission. She has received research scholarships from Gulbenkian Foundation and Fulbright (USA). She is the author and co-author of 12 books, editor of three books, author of 38 book chapters and several refereed journal articles published in European, Asian and American journals. |
CLAUDIO GIACHETTI Associate Professor of Strategy in the Department of Management at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy), where he also received his Ph.D. in Business Economics. He was visiting researcher at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and at Cass Business School in London (UK), and received a master degree in International Management at Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy). His primary research interests concern competitive dynamics and product innovation in rapidly changing technological and institutional environments. Claudio's work has been published in various journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Operations Management, Strategic Organization, Research Policy, Long Range Planning, Global Strategy Journal, International Business Review, R&D Management, Technovation, European Management Review, and Business History, among others. Claudio serves as Associate Editor for Business Research Quarterly. Before joining the academia, Claudio worked as consultant on issues of corporate strategy and competitive analysis with a variety of clients from the private sector. |
THOMAS DURAND Thomas Durand is professor of strategic management at Cnam in Paris (cnam.fr) where he heads the department of Strategies and the International Institute of Management. Previously, he taught at Ecole Centrale Paris for 30 years. His research interests focus on organizational competence, technology strategy, intrapreneurship and the management of innovation. His publications gravitate around the collective ability of organizations to build capabilities to design, feed and shape their strategies in a context of change. Over the last 15 years, he has also been studying extensively Business Schools and the future of management education and research. ANOOP MADHOK Anoop Madhok is a Professor of Strategy and the Distinguished Scotiabank Professor in International Business & Entrepreneurship at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto, Canada. He was earlier a Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Utah, USA and has held Visiting Professorships in numerous universities worldwide, such as Erasmus University and Vrije University (Netherlands), University of Melbourne (Australia), University of Glasgow (UK), University Carlos III and University of Valencia (Spain), among others. His work spans strategy, international business and entrepreneurship and his research interests include multinational firm strategy, interfirm collaboration and strategic alliances, economic organization and firm boundaries and, more recently, platforms and ecosystems. SIBIN WU Dr. Sibin Wu is Professor and Department Chair of Management at the University of Texas-Rio Grande (UTRGV). He does research in entrepreneurship, strategic management and international business. Dr. Wu has presented his research at numerous prestigious conferences such as AOM and AIB.
